"Dreams"
Dreams. Our wishes, our wants. We all need dreams, to keep growing, trying.
Poe, a famous writer, wrote a poem called Dreams. He said "...dreams!
In
their vivid coloring of life... of paradise and love - and all our
own! than
young hope in his sunniest hour hath known."
Tepper, a science fiction writer, wrote about dreams in her book Shadow's
End
. She said "...we all make up an Eden. Some old-time place.
Some
never-never place. Someplace just over the hill, maybe, where
things're the
way things used to be, ought to be, the way they never were."
What is your dream? When we dream we usually wish for things that
are way
beyond our reach. This month I learned about what my mentally
handicapped
friends dream about:
"What I would really like to do is...live in my own apartment."
"I am planning to move in a apartment someday and live on my own someday."
Maybe we should, like my friends, reach for what is tough to reach...but
reachable. That way we just might have a dream come true.
Maybe our dream should be to make a dream come true...
