A New Start

A new page is turning. The book is good. It is life. It's always a little sad to turn the final page of the previous chapter. It's also exciting to start reading the new chapter.

2006 is a new chapter. Now that we've started reading the first few pages, how is it? Each year brings something new, so really it's an adventure novel that until you read it is fiction, but once you read it it's non-fiction. It's history.

People start the new year by making New Year's resolutions. What's yours? When I asked a friend at Opportunity Village about her wish for 2006, she said, "I hope the day will come when I can move back to the Group Home." She injured her neck last year and health is what she wishes.

Some people wish for health, others friendship, others fortune, others fame, others happiness, others clothing, others shelter. Was 2005 a good chapter in your book?

Keep turning the pages, but keep in mind, as you turn those pages, take time to remember the good times of past chapters. Sometimes we get so caught up in reading ahead we never look back to enjoy the previous pages.

Insert a bookmark in the book of life, and take time to add your thoughts in the margins of the pages. It's your book to enjoy, to influence, to read, to write.

2006. A new chapter. A new start.
